The Proposal System

Approve · Reject · Revise

Contents

You make your decision in the action bar at the bottom of an expanded card. There are three options: approve, reject, or request a revision. The bar appears only for open proposals (status Pending or Revision Requested).

Approve

Clicking Approve & Execute (or Approve (N/M) for a partial selection) starts execution immediately.

What happens:

  1. The system checks all selected changes for validity (validation).
  2. If validation fails, nothing is executed—you see an error message.
  3. If everything is valid, the changes are executed one after another—the same way as your manual actions.
  4. If everything succeeds, the status changes to Executed.

Partial Failures

If at least one change succeeds but another one fails, the status changes to Revision Requested. A notice reports “Only partially executed,” the affected lines show Failed with the error message, and TandemLoop records in the conversation which changes failed—so the AI sees it too. Steps that have already been executed stay in place; there’s no rollback. If every selected change fails, the status stays unchanged.

Approving again is safe. If you approve a proposal again after a partial failure, changes that were already executed successfully aren’t applied twice. The system remembers what’s already done.

Reject

Clicking Reject ends the proposal without executing anything. If there’s text in the conversation’s input field at that moment, it’s sent along as a comment—so the AI learns why you rejected it.

The status changes to Rejected. The proposal moves to Closed and can’t be reopened or executed.

Request a Revision

With Revise, you signal to the AI that the proposal doesn’t fit yet. First, write in the conversation’s input field what should change—this comment is required; without text, Revise stays dimmed.

What happens next:

  • The status changes to Revision Requested.
  • Your comment appears in the conversation.
  • The AI adjusts the existing proposal directly (no new proposal) and replies in the conversation.

As soon as the AI has finished the revision, you review the updated card and decide again.

No status change when discussing. Comments you send with the send arrow in the conversation don’t change the status—that’s the difference from Revise, which actively triggers a status change and asks the AI to act.

On iPhone

On the proposal page, the large Approve & Execute or Approve (N/M) button is at the bottom. Next to it, the ⋯ menu offers Request Revision—where you enter the comment in a separate dialog—and Reject, which you confirm once more.

Approve (N/M) Executed (or Revision Requested after a partial failure) Only selected changes
