Keyboard Shortcuts

Contents

Many actions in TandemLoop are faster with the keyboard. You find the shortcuts you can reassign in Settings → Keyboard Shortcuts; all others are fixed and appear in the menus of the menu bar.

On the Spec Page

Action Shortcut Notes
Back ⌘ + [ Closes the spec page and returns to the list
Previous / next task ⌥ + ⌘ + ↑ / ⌥ + ⌘ + ↓ When going through several tasks
Edit / Reading View ⇧ + ⌘ + E Switches between editing and reading view
Ready & Next ⌘ + ↩︎ Marks the spec as ready for the AI agent and moves on to the next task
Copy Prompt ⇧ + ⌘ + C In the Hand Off menu

In Back from Agent, ⌘ + ↩︎ sends your comment or reply to the agent.

Single-letter shortcuts without modifiers (T, P, M, E) work only when no text field has focus. As soon as you type, these keys are treated as normal input.

Item menu: On the Mac, all commands for the current selection (task, milestone, or project) are also in the menu bar under Item—the same entries as in the context menu. ↩︎ and ⌫ appear there without shortcuts because they keep their normal meaning in text fields.

Customize shortcuts: In Settings → Keyboard Shortcuts, you can reassign these shortcuts: Quick Entry (system-wide) as well as New Task, New Project, New Milestone, Edit Item, Delete Item, and Quick Search. If a combination is already taken, the page shows a note about the conflict. All other shortcuts are fixed.

iPad with a Hardware Keyboard

On iPad with a connected keyboard, the same shortcuts apply—with two differences: There’s no new window, and the create commands are on ⌘ + N (New Task), ⇧ + ⌘ + N (New Project), and ⌥ + ⌘ + N (New Milestone). Hold down the ⌘ key to show an overview of the available commands.

Quick Entry on iPad: On iPad too, ⌃ + ⌥ + Space opens Quick Entry—but only while the app is open (there’s no system-wide background hotkey as on macOS). Alternatively, open it with the Quick Entry button (tray icon) at the top right of the toolbar.

Note: When several keyboards are active, iPadOS uses ⌃ + ⌥ + Space to switch the input source. If this causes a conflict, you can change the shortcut to a different combination in Settings → Keyboard Shortcuts.

The Keyboard Shortcuts page doesn’t exist on iPhone.
