A proposal is a structured set of suggested changes—a list of concrete steps that an AI or a tool has worked out and that you review before they’re carried out. You decide what happens; the system makes it happen.
Optional and off by default: You need to turn on proposals first, which you can do anytime in Settings › AI Agents. As long as they’re turned off, TandemLoop hides all proposal sections, and your AI tool creates and changes items directly; it deletes only when you explicitly ask it to (see Working with AI Agents).
The Idea Behind It
When you work with an AI, you don’t want it to move tasks, rename projects, or restructure areas directly and without asking. Instead, it drafts a suggestion—a proposal—and waits for your answer.
This principle is called a review layer: Between what the AI considers useful and what actually happens in your data folder, you stand as the checkpoint. No proposal changes anything until you approve it.
AI Tandem—You and the AI work in tandem: The AI analyzes, plans, and proposes; you evaluate and decide. Proposals are the channel through which this tandem works.
What a Proposal Contains
A proposal isn’t just a vague idea but a precise action plan. It can chain several changes together—for example, all at once:
- create a new project,
- move several Inbox tasks into that project,
- set tags, and
- update due dates.
All of this happens either completely in one go, or you choose exactly which parts you accept.

A proposal changes nothing until you act. As long as it’s open, your data folder stays unchanged. You can:
- approve the proposal completely,
- deselect individual changes and approve only part of it,
- adjust titles and values before approving,
- ask the AI for a revision,
- reject the proposal.

Proposals are optional. You can also do everything in TandemLoop manually. Proposals are an additional tool—useful when an AI takes over the tedious planning work and you only sign off on the result.
