Using the context menu of any view in the sidebar, you can edit, rename, delete, and rearrange views—and organize them clearly with view folders.
Editing Settings
To change the filter, sorting, or other configuration options of a view:
Sidebar › Views tab › Right-click the view › Edit…
On iPad, you reach the same menu with the ⋯ button at the end of the row; on iPhone, by touching and holding. The menu offers Open, Rename, Edit…, and Delete.
The view editor opens; to write the changes to the view file, click the checkmark at the top right (iPhone: Save).
Renaming
You can rename a view in two ways:
- Context menu: Right-click the view → Rename → the name becomes editable directly in the sidebar → ↩︎ confirms, ⎋ cancels.
- View editor: Open Edit… and change the Name field.
Deleting
Sidebar › Views tab › Right-click the view › Delete
The app asks for confirmation before it removes the view. On the Mac, the view file goes to the Finder’s Trash; on iPad and iPhone, deleting is permanent.
Caution—Deleting a view removes only the view itself, not the tasks. Your data is kept in full.
Changing the Order
Drag a view to the position you want in the sidebar. The order applies within the same view folder or at the top level.
View Folders
View folders group several views under a common name. This way you can combine views that belong together thematically—for example, all review views or all daily routines.
Creating a folder:
- In the Views tab, click View Folder in the footer at the bottom.
- Give the folder a name and confirm with ↩︎.
To create a folder inside a folder, right-click the folder › New Subfolder.
Moving views into a folder: Drag a view into the folder you want.
Renaming or deleting a folder works the same way as for views: Right-click the folder › Rename or Delete. When you delete a folder, the views it contains are kept: they move up one level—the confirmation dialog points this out.
No “Duplicate”—There’s currently no built-in function to copy a view. If you want to create a similar view, create a new one and adjust the settings.
