Manual

The TandemLoop manual is also in the app, through the Help menu or in Settings. How to connect an agent is also covered in Working with AI agents.

Subscription

  • Cancel or switch: in your Apple Account settings under Subscriptions, or in TandemLoop under Settings › Subscription › Manage Subscription.
  • Unlock on a new device: in TandemLoop under Settings › Subscription › Restore Purchases. The subscription applies on Mac, iPad, and iPhone with the same Apple Account.
  • Refund: through Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com.

Without an active subscription, TandemLoop stays in read-only mode: you see all your data but can’t change anything. Files in the data folder stay unchanged.

Your data

Your tasks are stored as Markdown files in the data folder you chose in TandemLoop. You can see where it is under Settings › Data Folder. You can open and back it up at any time in Finder or the Files app.

Frequently asked questions

Changes don’t show up on another device. What can I do?

On each device, check under Settings › Data Folder that the same folder in iCloud Drive is selected. TandemLoop has no server of its own; syncing happens only through iCloud. Try to work on one device at a time and let syncing finish before you switch—otherwise conflict copies of individual files can appear.

The view shows an outdated state even though files have changed.

TandemLoop normally detects changes in the data folder on its own, including those made by your AI agent. If the display still stays out of date, reload the cache: Settings › Data Folder › Reload Cache.

How do I switch the data folder or move it to another location?

Move the folder to the new location in Finder, then select it under Settings › Data Folder › Choose Folder. TandemLoop checks the structure and activates it as the new data folder. To use it on several devices, it has to be in iCloud Drive.

How do I back up my tasks?

Back up the data folder like any other folder, for example with Time Machine or through iCloud Drive’s versions. Syncing alone is not a backup, because it also carries deletions over to all devices.

I accidentally deleted a project.

On the Mac, the project, including its tasks and milestones, is in the Finder Trash. Choose Put Back from the context menu to return it to its place in the data folder, and TandemLoop shows it again. On iPad and iPhone, deleting is permanent; then only a backup helps. Undo with ⌘Z is not available for deleting.

My AI agent can’t see my tasks.

The agent needs access to the data folder on your Mac. Agents with file access such as Claude Code, Codex, or Gemini CLI can do this; a chat in the browser can’t. Give the agent the path from Settings › Data Folder as its working directory and ask it to read the AGENTS.md file in it first. Assign the tasks it should work on to it (Assigned To: AI). The agent runs outside TandemLoop and works only while you have it running. On the Mac, Help › Agent Tutorial walks you through connecting it.

Archiving doesn’t find any completed tasks.

Automatic archiving is turned off at first; you turn it on under Settings › Archiving. The default rule archives only 7 days after completion. You can shorten the waiting period there or set it to Immediately After Completion.

Quick Entry doesn’t open with ⌃⌥ Space.

The system-wide shortcut doesn’t need any special permission. If it doesn’t work, another app or macOS is usually using the same combination. Set a different one under Settings › Keyboard Shortcuts for the Quick Entry entry. Without the shortcut, open Quick Entry from File › Quick Entry.
