Quick Start in 5 Minutes

In five steps, you’ll have TandemLoop set up and know how to capture, organize, and find your tasks again. Each step points to a detailed chapter if you want to dig deeper later.

Five Steps to Your First Workflow

  1. Create your first area. In the sidebar, choose the Projects tab. In the footer at the bottom left, click Area. Give your area a name—for example, “Work” or “Personal”—and confirm with ↩︎. Your area appears in the sidebar. Areas you selected during setup are already there.

    → All about areas: Areas

  2. Create your first project. Select your new area in the sidebar. Click Project in the toolbar (or press P). An input row appears at the end of the project list: Enter the name and confirm with ↩︎.

    → All about projects: Projects

  3. Create your first task. Open your project by clicking it in the sidebar or double-clicking the project card. Click Task in the toolbar (or press T), type the title, and confirm with ↩︎—the row stays open for the next task. You set other fields in the Inspector.

    → All about tasks: Tasks

  4. Capture something in a flash (Quick Entry). Press ⌃ + ⌥ + Space—even when TandemLoop is in the background. A small input window opens. Type your thought and confirm with ↩︎. The entry lands in the Inbox without interrupting your current work. On iPad, tap the tray icon at the top right.

→ Inbox and Quick Entry in detail: Inbox & Quick Entry

  5. Create your first view. In the sidebar, switch to the Views tab. Click View in the footer. In the view editor, give the view a name, optionally set a filter, and confirm with the checkmark at the top right. The view appears in the sidebar and shows you the result right away.

→ Creating and configuring views: Creating a View

On iPhone, create areas, projects, tasks, and views with + at the top right of the respective tab.
